The Boomerang Express...

We've been pretty busy and it all pretty much started last week! Last Sunday, we had a huge spaghetti luncheon at the church for the youth group- that was fun but took a lot of preperation. We also spent the day before that at the church building sets for the Boomerang Express Vacation Bible School theme... and on top of that, Lawrence preached a joint sermon on Sunday morning with Pastor Chris!

It was a long weekend- but that was just the beginning. On Sunday, after the luncheon, we stayed at the church to begin putting up the sets for VBS- then about 5pm we jumped in the car and headed to Myrtle Beach, SC for family vacation with Lawrence's side of the family. We had a great time in Myrtle (we stayed in the same hotel that we stayed in on our honeymoon last year!) but we didnt get a lot of alone time because Lawrence's brothers went with us almost everywhere- but that was ok...nice to spend some time with them. We did get one night together and went to Broadway at the Beach and watched fireworks and walked around in the shops.

We headed back home on Wednesday afternoon with Lawrence's brothers Dustin & Daniel and Dustin's girlfriend Kristin. We went straight to church for a crazy youth group meeting and then dropped Kristin off at home (after taking Dustin to apply for a job at Cookout and Smithfields!)

Dustin and Daniel stayed with us until Monday morning and we put them to work. The VBS stuff still needed a lot of work, so we were there all day Friday and Saturday- we didnt get home Saturday until after 11!... but it was all done for Sunday morning!

Heather left to work a camp at Campbell on Sunday and will be gone until Thursday- spending the night! She has to miss the VBS festivities this week- but it's ok! Lawrence on the other hand, will be hanging out with the 3rd-5th graders! It's gonna be craziness!

Caswell is two weeks away!!!!!!! We are both really excited.... look for more blog posts about the summer... we want to keep everyone up to date... haha... those who actually read this...!

New House & Summer Plans!!!

So we got moved... and we LOVE the new place... especially the fact that it has WINDOWS! Maggie has adjusted well and we just love being here. Heather wants to get into gardening a bit- since we have somewhat of a yard to work with- I love going to the Home Depot- so its a win-win situation! ;)

This summer is going to be a busy one for us! We've got our 1 year anniversary coming up in a week- we are really excited. No big trip or anything this year, which is sad, but we're going to the beach with my family later, so that will have to do for this year. I found out last night that we are staying in the same hotel that we stayed in for our honeymoon. It will be nice to go back- though it def. will not be the same.

We've also got VBS- Heather and I are in charge of decorating for it... that is going to be craziness. Then Caswell- which we both look really forward to every year- especially this one! Heather is getting a summer job to pay for a conference she wants to go to--- that should be lots of fun for her! :) Im going to be working in my office at the church a lot more- getting stuff done now while I have the time.

We'll keep everyone posted as things happen. Hope that you are doing well!

WE ARE MOVING!!!!

Yep, we have decided to move. We're not going far- actually just right down the road. Its a much nicer NEIGHBORHOOD(it will be nice to live in one of those)AND we get our own driveway and back patio! On top of that, we have lots of light (what will we do with windows in our living room?), higher ceilings, a fireplace, an extra bedroom, a yard and new appliances! Sure we'll have to pay a bit more- but its safer and that is great. They allow us to have Maggie and the landlord is really cool!

We sign the lease this Friday so we can start moving everything but the lease won't go into effect until April 1.

I know it will be sad to leave our first house behind, but we are moving somewhere nicer and safer.

PICS TO COME! ;)

New Addition to Our Family!

We got a dog! She is a two year old German Shepard/Terrier Mix - SHE IS SMALL! ;) Her name is Maggie and we adopted her from the Wake County Animal Center in Raleigh...

The last time I (Lawrence) was at that place, my mom and I were dropping off my favorite dog Mandy (a black lab) who could not stay in the fence at home.... we dropped her off when I was in 8th Grade...

She is house trained and does not bark- which is good! She is also very sweet!

We will post pictures soon!

New Grill and Winter Formal

This week has been a whirlwind. Heather has been busy with work and Ive had school- only one more full week and then Thanksgiving break and exams- then CHRISTMAS BREAK! I cant wait!

We bought a grill- finally. One of those things that we've been meaning to do since the beginning of our marriage, but have not until now. Its just a little charcoal number but it gets the work done and grilled some pretty good steaks the other night!

Tonight we went to Winter Formal @ Campbell. It was in the brand new Convocation Center- the theme was "A Christmas to Remember" and they had it decorated with Christmas type stuff. It was nice to get out and do something, though there were not a ton of people there. There was a live band that played older songs and Heather and I had a great time.

Heather is headed three hours away from home tomorrow night because she the football team where she works made it to playoffs and so she will not be home until the early morning hours Saturday- so Ill be around with not much to do and will prob. go to my office and get some much needed work done!

This weekend is going to be pretty busy because we have a youth fundraiser Saturday morning- we will be raking leaves for some elderly people (bet Heather will be half awake for that one) and then a church-wide fundraiser (Harvest Sale) Sat. night. It should all be fun but I bet we'll both be worn out by the time Sat. night rolls around.

For those who are reading- thanks! Feel free to post some comments if you want!

Mawidge is a dweam

"Mawidge is a dweam wiffin a dweam"
If you have ever seen The princess bride you would know exactly what part that is from. Luckily for me I have a wonderful husband who let me name our blog after one of the greatest love stories ever. The book is rather tedious, I strongly suggest just watching the movie.
So this weekend Lawrence and I spent some money on food, speaker stands and the newest edition to our house......a charcoal grill. Sure it was cheap $15 but we love it. We talked all summer about getting a grill and looked at all the expensive ones and really just hung the idea up for another time. So today we decided it would be nice to just have a small grill. So we bought some steaks and potatoes and have a good ol fashion steak and potatoes meal. Well sort of , I didnt really cook the steaks long enough, and well lets just say it took longer and a little more fire than we originally thought. so now we both really just have leftovers or rather a meal for tomorrow. Oh well I still love the fact that we now have a grill. I have a few pictures and will put them up soon.

God bless!
